“Castle in the Pyrenees” by Rene Magritte [one of my favorite paintings]

Since the drawing is signed "Magritte" I take it to be a preliminary sketch.

The dreamer and a floating rock... Ever since first seeing this painting, as
a teenager, I imagined that it was the occupant(s) of the castle who were
keeping it in the air purely by imaginative intention [or, conversely, they
chose not to believe that gravity was such an absolute]. Perhaps this is a
coincidence of literal & figurative higher vantage points.

In his alchemical story of the travels of Gulliver, SWIFT, imagined an island, in the airs, how was it working ? With a magnet !

One of my friend would say "It is meteoritic !" Hey, why not ? Meteorits contain Iron, and it is considered in some tradition as a sacred metal because of its origins.

An island containing a village traveling in the air with a "magnet?" Sounds like an alien mothership to me! ;)

IMHO on that "sketch" I posted is a man seeking/thinking about what the hell is that alch. first matter.

On that painting is the stone from sea foam, air castle 4 many.

NB that this saying is multilangual.

Yeah, the meteorite connection is pretty apparent in that one.

This is going off on a bit of a tangent here, but since meteorites were mentioned above, and Solomon-Levi has recently brought up the subject of glass and silicates, I was reminded of the tektite moldavite. I have definitely felt the rather amazing power of this stone [most noticeably at first, of course]. For me, it seemed to add some palpable measure of “transformational fluidity“ - for lack of a better term :). It’s one of the items I have in my “medicine pouch” that I wear every day. Also, I place a moldavite stone in each of my EM brewing containers.

Curious, that a bit of glass from outer space can be imbued with such an effectual vibe.

An excerpt from one of the reviews that might be of interest to some people:

“Much of the information here about moldavite is correct, and matches my experience with Tektite moldavite. Many people are under the impression that tektite Moldavite is the most powerful stone on Earth. From my experience with 60+ different kinds of rocks in my collection; Moldavite is the second most powerful stone on earth. In April; I saw two Rainbow Boji stones that were far more powerful than any of the pieces of moldavite in my collection.”

the main attribute of meteor/ite
is its swiftness
/or maybe fe/
so these solid static sketch&paintings
tell me otherwise
