Has anyone seen, “The Holy Mountain”, by Alejandro Jodorowsky 1973?

I bought it after reading the synopsis and it is captivating if only by its surrealism.
A must see film even if you regret watching it afterwards :)

You can read The Plot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Holy_Mountain_(1973_film)#Plot) however it does summarise the whole film, including the end.

I would love to hear others views on it.

Just watched the trailer.

Looks very interesting, to say the least! I'm going to try and get this.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention :)

I downloaded the film, pretty intense stuff. I don't think I have seen a film with so much esoteric symbolism.

Interesting interview, worth the watch: http://www.dangerousminds.net/comments/occupy_your_mind_an_interview_with_alejandro_jodor owsky/

El Topo blew my mind (sometime in the mid 70s). My tripping buddy took me to see it while we were still tripping, and I cursed him at the beginning because of the graphic violence, but eventually the detachment re-asserted itself, and I could discern the various types of 'Masters.' The symbolism was even more dense as The Holy Mountain, which I watched within the past year. The former was Eastern and yogic for the most part, the latter, Western and alchemical.
