Lo Shu Diamond Elemental Rose

Very nice image MM!

Please describe it for us, such a piece of art needs to be understood on a deeper level (because I sense there is one)! I see the elements clearly and Sol & Lun... but there is more to the patter I presume!

(mad with awe)
We've the four elements in a square of each other, then the cross opposing the circle, which combined makes the astrological symbol of Earth. Perhaps the cross of matter and the circle of spirit (oh, reincarnation, the law of conservation of energy, or what have you.) I'm not quite up to snuff on the asterisk in the center. Perhaps the dichrome shapes aren't unlike those in the Sri Yantra.

Well, the image was inspired by the work of
m1thr0s, et al., over at abrahadabra.com... (http://forums.abrahadabra.com/index.php)

It all starts with the Lo Shu Square (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lo_Shu_Square):

By rotating the above square by 225 degrees we get:

Then the numbers were replaced with their
isomorphically-related elemental symbols...

These symbols, and their respective chronological
numerical values, were detailed, I think, in Liber 777 (http://www.thelemapedia.org/index.php/Tree_of_Life:777)...

The elements:

1 - Fire
2 - Sol
3 - Air
4 - Lingam
5 - Spirit
6 - Yoni
7 - Earth
8 - Luna
9 - Water

Sri Yantra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yantra) was indeed implied within the image,
as was concept "As Above, So Below"...

There is also a nod to the Venerable Tetractys... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetractys)
Quite extensive, friend! I'm a bit dense when it comes to magic squares and numerological associations outside of astrology, tarot, and that durned Law of 5, and thus I'm doubly amazed to see it so masterfully executed in Works!

Anibis recommended this book by Clifford A. Pickover (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clifford_A._Pickover) to me:

The Zen of Magic Squares, Circles, and Stars: (http://books.google.com/books?id=E6CnrdKd3OUC&pg=PA196&dq=isbn:0691115974&sig=IdHPexlns5YYETJjtXv38eTrFTs)
Princeton University Press, 2002 ISBN 0-691-11597-4 (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Booksources&isbn=0691115974)

And with all this balancing going on,
I guess I'm also greatly reminded of:

It makes perfect sense now, to me anyway when you explain it like this!

Don't feel like

You are a very centred cat I've noticed...

If you imply that you are a gemini, then welcome to the club!
I'm not sure if I should make love to the world, or blow my brains out...

I hope you will post more of your artwork!

Perhaps the art section here should be bigger, after all alchemy is often called The Sacred Art!

By the way let me just add this to the elements:

1 - Fire = external
2 - Sol = internal
3 - Air = external
4 - Lingam = internal
5 - Spirit = exceptional
6 - Yoni = internal
7 - Earth = external
8 - Luna = internal
9 - Water = external
the true alchemy was based off of signs just like this, I will explain what each means, the triangle blank pointing down is water, the triangle with a slash pointing down is earth, the triangle blank pointing up is fire, the triangle with the slash pointing up is air. this explains so above so below. The circle with the dot in it is the sol, sun, or father, and the crescent moon is Luna, the moon, the mother. I would assume the * is spirit. This is what should really be posted up here, is real alchemical art! for many painters were alchemists.
