As per Paracelsus the work of saturn uses markasite of lead for the red oil
question: can the metal of galena be used after obtaining the acetate of lead for the dry distillation and obtaining the red or yellow oil as well as the acetone , and is markasite an impurity to be taken out of the lead ore before getting the crystal or acetates

It's possible with galena, but it a tedious and time consuming process since u need to roast the galena and treat it with conc. vinegar over and over again, an easier way is to use cerussite, minium of lead "lead oxide" since it'll convert right away to the precious suger of lead, but Cerussite is hard to obtain and can be rather pricy.

I don't know what u mean with the Markasite "FeS" but u just use the common natural mineral galena which can be obtained inexpensively from many places.
