Very poetic and informative video: http://vimeo.com/48760853

Documents in detail a typical initiation. Having been through this I can say this is really impressive and authentic.

But there is so much more :) wouldn't you say Dev?

One needs to look at the faces of those who are explaining their experience to know that
they cannot fully explain it because one needs to experience it for oneself.

Check out this short clip from a Sting interview (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1HiZTecoUU&feature=fvwp&NR=1) with Daniel Pinchbeck who incidentally is
one of the people we have been talking to about the upcoming Iboga expedition.

You can read about Daniels Iboga experience in this link (http://www.salon.com/1999/11/03/iboga/) posted earler by Dev in post 27
of Iboga expedition (http://forum.alchemyforums.com/showthread.php?2828-Iboga-expedition/page3&highlight=iboga)

Perhaps it felt this way for me because of my own experience. But it described the process quite well, and didn't try to show visions as they are all individual.

I have always connected these icaros to the oral component of the classical "witch's incantation" or a spell. A series of, in this case, audio symbols that have some sort of potency to stimulate the unconcious. I think the really interesting part is that even though someone has no knowledge of the language the icaro is sung in, the effect is similarly transporting. It hints at some underlying spiritual concept that be accessed by perhaps the vibrations these songs produce or the reciprocated harmonic vibration in our own minds. One should analyze these songs and see if their physics lineup with brainwaves or music of the spheres concepts. Perhaps there is a philosophical brown note out there. Does anyone know of any studies performed in this vein?

A great pdf I found that interests me greatly... not sure anyone else will enjoy it: Introduction to Shipibo icaros language (http://www.scribd.com/doc/210082497/Introduction-to-Shipibo-Icaros-Language)

In order to use the words this is required: Shipibo Pronunciation and Spelling Guide (http://www.native-languages.org/shipibo_guide.htm)
