Citrinitas

Could anyone give some insight into the significance of citrinity? I haven't quite been able to break through those texts I've read that don't ignore it entirely. In theory, to my understanding, when the three phases of the work are present simultaneously in equal measure the color of gold should shine through, but I've never observed this myself and I could be completely off.
