I had these symbols appear in a dream. I immediately woke up and wrote them down. I'm still not certain how I was able to remember them. Perhaps they're not exact. I've searched for the symbols and the closest I find are Alchemy symbols. I'm hoping someone can help me understand or figure out the meaning.

I would like you to describe the dream that you saw if you can remember.

I only remember being on rolling rocky grassy hills and there was water...perhaps a lake. Similar to ones I've seen in photos of Scotland. The symbols were seen in the air. Not in the sky with the stars, but just above my head a few feet. That's all I remember. :( Not much to go on.

Water: represents conscious life experiences.
Physical water is essential to life. In the language of mind, water symbolizes the experience in the physical level of consciousness. These are the everyday, walking interactions, situations, and circumstances that arise bringing opportunities for enrichment.

Mountains: are obstacles, so to dream of successfully climbing a mountain can reveal a true feeling of achievement. Viewing a landscape from atop a mountain can symbolize a life under review without conscious prejudice.

In my opinion the symbols are probably encrypted words (answer) to your questions which i think that you have to follow them step by step in order to achieve that what you have in desire. For example if you are seeking spirituality I assume knowledge will bring you to that state.

The symbols are so very detailed and I feel like they mean something specific.

I had one smilar dream...it was the one where i dreamt a golden red picture. in my dream it was goethe - the ouroboros. and as i follow that trace i came to a beautiful story of gothe- green snake and a beautiful lilly. it is full of symbolism...
anyway, in same dream i saw onesigil, which i have clea in my mind but i just can't draw it. it's totaly illogical and it seem like physicaly can't be draw...it is contrary to the laws of logic..i tried but i had no success.

I day dream odd symbols like yours, I have nearly an entire book full of symbols that have no meaning to mummy current contours state, I'll be doing something and suddenly space out and see the symbols and I begin writing them... it's quite odd...

Nice dream interpretation Ilos :)

I always enjoy seeing "received" characters.

(I've been looking for this Pazzaglini guy's book for the longest time.)

These symbols look quite a bit like sigils derived from magic squares:

There is a related tradition of "terma" "treasure scripts" in Buddhism where 'dakini script' is received by someone, then given to the monastery, where qualified monks (tertons) can interpret it.

For instance you may have before seen "Liberation Upon Seeing":

"“Those who see this script will not experience the three lower realms and will be liberated from the fear of falling into the lower realms; will be purified of the five poisons and freed from the results of one’s karma; will be freed from the fear of remaining in samsara.” " received by Terton Migyur Dorje

More dakini script examples:

Anyway, thanks for sharing.

I'm only suggesting, please keep that in mind, I have seen similar symbols for describing various "beings" in the astral plane. In Bardon's The Practice of Magical Evocation or in the third volume, you'll look in the back and see what I mean.

They're not dream-related per say, what I mean. Those, generally, can be what one calls 'energetic signatures' of beings in Tibetan cultures. You met 'spirits' or astral beings who perhaps introduced themselves to you. My humble suggestion: If you concentrate on a single symbol, meditate on it, be in 'receiving' mode, then you may be able to communicate with one. Just please be careful!

Perhaps this is the central point of the dream, that these symbols are unrelated to anything you can find in old books. In that case it compensates a too big reliance on spiritual authority. It seems to symbolize "spiritual scribble", that is, something that you can produce yourself. The truth is written in the air, that is, in the spirit. Evidently, it is not printed in books. This means that it is readily available to anyone, who can themselves produce spiritual scribble. Since the experience takes place in nature, one can suppose that a feeling of reverence for nature plays an important role, just as it did for the Taoist monks. Such feelings and images would be suitable as themes for the "spiritual scribble". (When telling a dream, one should always tell the whole dream, and add some facts about oneself, sex, average age, etc.)
