Thanks to recent discussions with my good friends Androgynus and Seth-Ra I have decided to show some of my metal work.

Method #1 Description: First method I wanted to try. Didn't achieve what I was looking for.

Alkahest mixed with some rain and 24k gold leaf.

Method #2: I made some changes so that I could more closely adhere to the principles. The initial appearances looked the same, the end result was different. I also used a different water, not rain, dew, snow, or hail.

I see you've found an alkahest :P

excellent pictures! but I can't tell if the metals are being dissolved or just the oils extracted..

Quintessence of Metals

Used iron, gold, copper. Also used rain water and shook it a lot.

A green lion forming

I would have more pictures with better quality but the glass broke. Lesson learned on not being careful, I'll eventually get around to getting some better glass.

Red gold gel

Posted this image in response to a similar work posted in here. I dissolved some gold in rain water with one matter. It loses it's shine in a few weeks of which I have not tried to use it.

That covers most of what I remember posting in this thread before the reset. If anyone else would like to contribute to lost material it would be much appreciated.

Lunsula wrote: @Tungsten I just use one of the standard scientific methods but tweak it a few ways to make it more alchemical. There are more variations depending on what I'm trying to do.

Tungsten wrote: could you tell me a simple method of dissolving gold in alkahest?

amoodikh wrote: Hi Tungsten,

I believe you start with hot distilled water add to it pinches of citric acid, stir to dissolve it. Then add little by little sodium carbonate for it will react producing bubbles, keep adding it until no more bubbles. Your alkahest is now ready. Drop one 24K pure gold leaf. Put it on hotplate for few days... You suppose to see changes of color starting light yellow till you reach the red color. I hope I am right.!

Kiorinosis wrote: Is that alkahest or aqua regia?

amoodikh wrote: Aqua regia is made mainly with two strong acids but here we are dissolving weak acid with a base. Beside the Aqua regia does not produce red solution out of 24k gold.
Here is a picture showing the green vitriol (crystal), pure gold is partially part of the lime green vitriol.

Lunsula wrote: Selecting one of the methods isn't really the important thing to understand. Any of the scientific methods for dissolving gold can be used for these processes but if you want more impressive results you need understand the principles of the alchemy. With that in mind a few are more efficient in terms of time and money.

@Kiorionis I must have overlooked your statement about oil/body a while back, sorry about that. I usually notice question marks better. Sometimes it's one, sometimes it's the other. The first work I did pic 1 in this thread was the body. The second work which has been my favorite through all of this had both which gives it's unique properties which can be observed in the pictures. I was actually hoping to get some discussion out of that but thus far it's only been mentioned to me by Seth-Ra in private, thanks for noticing btw.

@Tungsten The Green Lion work really isn't mine to share, not that I'm one to share so openly to begin with. Which may change in the future at some point. There's really a lot more to it than that and I feel like I could write a whole thread on the subject. I learned it from Seth-Ra who is actually the reason this thread even exists. I really had no interest in metal works at all until he started talking about it one day. After seeing some pictures I was inspired and decided to try some myself.

Now for some updates!

Cooked Quintessence

http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg516/Lucyfairy/cookedquintessence_zps585a02ef.jpg

I decided to cook this one at a low temperature which I originally had in mind to be one week. Of course I basically forgot about it and ended up cooking two months or more, no idea I totally forgot. I don't use specific heats regardless of what I'm doing/attempting, just whatever I think feels right.

Obviously my first thought was well let's pull it out and store it. Of course then I thought why not grow it some more. So I took out about half the water and added in some dew and salts to fill it back up. The two following pictures are during that process which is still ongoing.

View from the side

http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg516/Lucyfairy/Quintreach_zps103e1a69.jpg

Here you can see it moving from the bottom to the top. It was actually very hard to get a decent looking photo of this, my glass isn't shaped the best for this and glare didn't help. Without the camera it's way easier to see but you can still kind of see it. It extends all the way from the bottom to the top.

Here you can see it forming at the top again where it will collect until it falls to the bottom again.

I also recently began making more green lion.

Green Lion V1

http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg516/Lucyfairy/standardgl_zpsf1da6d3a.jpg

This version was more or less what I initially thought it was supposed to be like. I actually had a curiosity of what it tasted like. Despite being warned not to do so I decided to dilute it with water and take a sip. I drank two ounces and almost instantly thought "Maybe that was a bad idea." I felt like I was going to throw up for 2 or 3 minutes. Then I just felt ill on and off for the next few hours that night. When I woke up I had a blistering hunger pain.

Green Lion V2

http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg516/Lucyfairy/livinggreenlion_zpsc424d1bf.jpg

I took this picture just after it had finished forming. Thankfully the glass did not break this time and I was able to get a much better picture. The idea like last time was to make it more living. So I added a gur I made from a separate gold work along with some sulfur of honey and potassium carbonate. Which helps the strength a lot but it's hard to make it stable and if it isn't stable it falls out of suspension and becomes worthless. Unless it can be made stable for long enough to collect at which point it doesn't matter as much if it crashes.

Gold & Silver tincture

http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg516/Lucyfairy/PirateElixir_zpsdd810b4b.jpg

So one day I thought why not make a tincture of silver and gold? So I made one and it turned out like this. I was kind of surprised to see what appeared to be a pirate or a viking guy with a big beard in the reflection when I took the picture. I see on him what appears to be an eye patch, white gloves, white hat, and white coat. Seems kind of weird and I think he looks slightly angry. I definitely don't look like that and there's nothing in my room that should reflect that. It lasted about 2 or 3 weeks before it started to fall out of suspension but not all of it did, just about half of it. I didn't extract it properly because I didn't have the extra materials I needed at the time and didn't want to wait for them to come in. I may take another shot at this later.

Combined tinctures

http://i1241.photobucket.com/albums/gg516/Lucyfairy/MixedMedicine_zpsc45a6de2.jpg

One day I was making some tincture to store and I decided to make one with stuff all mixed together. I added a bit of the gold & silver one as well as quintessence and just a bit of some plant tinctures I was working with at the time. I took a picture of this combined tincture in a medicine dropper I was using. I thought it looked neat so I decided to post it too.

You say you drank two ounces of diuted green lion in water; what was the initial amount of green lion? What do you think about the whole experience. Positive, negative or neutral?
Thanks!

I'm sorry, I didn't write that with enough details. What I meant was that I drank two ounces out of a 16 ounce glass which I had diluted with only 3 medicine droppers full of undiluted green lion. Undiluted being what you see in the picture GL V1. I would in no way consider ingesting V2.

As for the whole experience I would say mostly negative. I would certainly not venture to try it again. I might consider ingesting the ingredients separately since that might be interesting or at least less painful. Probably depends on how much distance put between them in time or maybe if I put some food between them.

I have experimented ingesting one of the ingredients (the less toxic) and have reached up to 0.5 ml of a fairly concentrated solution. I couldn't feel any effect, neither positive or negative. However, after some months, I returned back to it and this time I dissolved some of it in ethanol (95%). I know it shouldn't dissolve in ethanol but mine did, probably because of exposure to air. Of this, tried one drop and gave me a peculiar heat in the upper body. I haven't confirmed the effect with a second dosage, but I mention it, maybe it could be of help to other researchers.
