In my book, this one is the hands-down winner as the most likeable Dracula ever in film and TV history.

Only one episode of the new Dracula series has aired, and I'm already hooked :)

Firstly, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers as Dracula is a most Yummy choice... But that's not all there is to it.

The latest Dracula is (among other things) a technology businessman, picking up Tesla's work on wireless energy transmission...
And he seeks revenge against a world cabal of banksters who had imprisoned him in the past and burned his love at the stake as a witch, while using religion to control the masses... and so on...

A strange mixture of a vampire anti globalist entrepreneur with an agenda for vendetta...
Not to mention that Van Helsing is no longer his Arch Enemy, but rather his collaborator...
And Renfield is no longer a brainwashed slave, but rather a young black version of Batman's Alfred... with added wits and muscle to match...

Lots to look forward to :)

Sounds promising, but I don't watch series before I know there is a final season so I guess I have to wait. Although I might do a sneak peak in this case as I love Dracula lore (and Tesla).

Hey thanks for sharing,
I just checked the trailer, it looked really good but I guess I will wait for a few seasons to be made before I start watching it :)

also agreed it is good. As history has revealed the truly nasty bloodsuckers are the unempathic predatory capitalists, here revealed as elites who see the rest of us as fodder and lowlife. The outlaw scorned Dracula, from the Older Order (True Blood spin), whom the victors have re-written in their histories as the "bad" guy, may yet be the one who brings more freedom to sleeping humans. Love the Tesla angle. Well, sleepers are food for both sides, and the Quest if full of danger

I've studied Vlad Tepes a lot and he is one of the dudes of history that really fascinate me. Although he did some bad things he also did some amazing things. I think he was so hardcore that moral society can't really grasp his ingenuity. He took dictatorship to a new level. And there is a sorrow about him, something sad that I really like.

Still haven't seen this series... but I will.

The first season of 'Dracula' finished airing, so those who prefer to watch the whole thing in one go, can do so now.

Apparently, it's either the UK or the 'or something' version.

Can you post the IMDB for the 'Dracula' you've been watching? Are you sure you're not referring to True Blood (http://forum.alchemyforums.com/showthread.php?3706-True-Blood)?

I'm a sucker for vampire shows :)

Then it's the exact same one I am referring to in this thread. Same show exactly.
