... or the Greek Trinity :)

I'm just posting this for reference, leaving the rest to the reader's interpretation...

I postulate that the three main Greek gods (who also happen to be brothers, sons of Chronos and grandsons of Ur-Anus :)) are representative of important protagonists/functions in the Great Work.

Hades (Pluto) - Ruler of the 'Underworld' and especially Tartarus (the innermost 'Interiora' of the Earth)

Poseidon (Neptune) - Ruler of the Sea ('Our Water')

Zeus (Jupiter) - Ruler of the Sky ('Our Heaven') as well as Lord of Thunder and Lightning

Below them, also pertaining to The Great Work, we have Diana & Apollo, representing Luna & Sol.

Also, let us not neglect the alchemically relevant Birth of Venus (Aphrodite).

'Venus' is often mentioned in Alchemical Literature as 'Our Magnet' as well as part of the 'mysterious' union of Venus and Mars.
