View Full Version : Planned Censorship of Esoteric Websites and Web Forums in the UK!

I just came across this article; I have no idea if there is any truth in it.

The UK Internet Censorship Bill is being launched as a censor against child pornography websites to
protect our children, however what is not known about it is that esoteric websites and internet
forums are also included in the bill - without being publicly announced... Spiritual, occult and
esoteric websites are conveniently being categorized to the same degree as pornography, terrorism,
violence, suicide etc…! This means that all paranormal, supernatural, occult, new age, spiritual,
alternative religion websites etc... will soon be banned from public viewing in the UK (and it may
very well be an example for other countries to follow, as Canada and Australia have already
announced similar plans) if we don't do anything about it. If this matters to you please help spread
the word so we can all group together and stand up to this bill.

Petition to David Cameron (http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/uk-prime-minister-david-cameron-stop-the-unnecessary-censorship-of-esoteric-websites-and-web-forums)

I am against censorship in any shape or form for any reason. If someone is breaking the law then go
directly to the source of that particular problem, but don’t sensor the general public. The
Government’s work for us and it is time they realised it is we, the majority, who should give them
their agenda not the other way around.

Here is an article from the Huffington Post ( http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/olly-lennard/why-david-camerons-intern_b_3653566.html) today on the subject. The inclusion of this link does not mean
I sanction what the Huffington Post reports, it is just a link to a view I hold.

I can't freaking stand censorship. Thankfully I save most of the really good works on esoteric subjects in html format or pdf but I sometimes think I should print everything out just in case. Even if I have the knowledge from such works I can't remember everything about them and some are already written so perfectly imo it would be a real waste. Especially this forum, tons of great stuff spread out over it. Can't imagine not being able to get this information at my fingertips like usual. It's so easy to take stuff for granted.
