imo, so many are curious about the philosophers' stone without reading the philosophers.
in abiding, proceeding and returning we have our saturn (black, absorbtion = abiding), our sun (emanating) and our moon (reflecting the emanations).
these are the One, the Nous/mind/intelligence/consciousness and the Psyche/soul. I don't have time to write a whole book on here, but if you understood the unbroken chain and how everything is brought into being, you would know the first matter of gold and could create it the same way you created all matter. to think there is a higher or better alchemy than this is an error. for anyone who can read the philosophers, it is obvious that there is only one One, only one Prima, only one Sun and Moon. I've already spoken of the One enough, and actually have old posts about reading the philosophers too, so there isn't much to say except to spoonfeed it... After the One, we have two, which Plato calls the bound and the infinite. These are the only two possibilities that can happen. It's not open to debate if we see. Bound = fixed; infinite = volatile... then they go on to talk about how to multiply each, both the power/dynamis and quantity... just like alchemy.
Read Plato, Aristotle, or Plotinus, Proclus or Iamblichus... to be searching for a mineral is where on the chain?? Why not start at the One?
