I have been thinking about this for a while and I think I will create a podcast.

Each episode will be about 1-2 hours long and feature interesting discussions/interviews as well as music from bands that allow me to broadcast their songs for free without any royalty fees.

I will produce 3-4 episodes before I go live with the podcast (so I can stay ahead of the curve once it goes live). You don't want a potential audience to have to wait for the next episode. I imagine broadcasting one episode per month (on the Internet/iTunes etc).

The podcast will be like an audio version of Alchemy Forums, meaning that all the interesting subjects we discuss here will also be discussed in this podcast. As well as alternative views on current states of affair etc... it is pretty limitless, but the red thread will be transformation i.e. alchemy.

I have also started to contact 'established' people about appearing in the podcast for debates/interviews.

I also think it could be cool to have interesting debates with the people here on the forums that feel they can contribute a good conversation. You can appear with your real name or with a pseudonym. The only thing you are required to have is Skype with a good internet connection so I can record your audio. If it is possible you can also plug in a better microphone than the one already built in on your computer for an even better audio...

Also if you make music or know a good band that can provide a song for free let me know, or if you know an interesting scientist, scholar etc that can provide an interesting interview.

The podcast will be ad-free and free to share and download.

I'd be interested in a debate between an Alchemist and a Christian Creationist. Also between an Alchemist and an Atheist. Maybe even all three at once!

Could be quite lively :)

Although fun it doesn't have a purpose. A brick wall is a brick wall... so better to have interesting discussion with somewhat likeminded people, even if they have different theories of existence, consciousness etc.

Makes sense.

How far along is this?

Awani

I am right now making Episode 1, which will be a somewhat shorter episode that is an introduction of the series.

I've also written to many authors and scientists that I find interesting, but no one has said yes yet, but they haven't said no either... some wants me to get back to them in a few months. I also intend to play good talks if I can get hold of a copyright free one.

But I won't publish Ep 1 before I have at least 3-4 episodes in the bag, so I can stay ahead of the releases once they start going.

The potential list of guests, audio talks and music are growing. I am sure the first couple of episodes will be a bit rough, but as the journey goes forward I am sure it will sound more and more professional.

I also hope some here on the forum will be willing to engage in a discussion about alchemy or philosophy or whatever... just let me know if you want to do this... and we can have a practice session on Skype.

Thanks, next one I'll release this weekend. But it is not until episode 3 that I will actually converse with people (interviews/dialogues).

Also again if anyone here in the forums have a field of interest that they can talk an hour or two about let me know and perhaps we can do a Skype call for a future podcast episode. As long as the subject deals with interesting ideas, alternative ideas, the occult/esoteric, spiritualism etc I'm game.

Interesting thoughts in episode 2. It makes me wonder about your own personal motives for the topic, and the quotes you chose to emphasize, and where you are planning to go in the future of the show in reference to this mysterious line you have subtly drawn concerning the topic. =)

To criticize ever so slightly... I would like to listen more to your thoughts about the subject, rather than hearing almost exclusively the thoughts of those others in the recording you provided. Nevertheless, it has been thought provoking.

Awani

Well the next few episodes will be a dialogue with other individuals. The episodes where I just play a pre-recorded talk is either because I don't have a good guest or because it is a talk I like.

Not sure where I am planning to go... Trying to get Sheldrake as a guest, but at the moment he was busy so I opted to play this talk on atheism instead.

I'm still figuring this shit out. So I am sure it will improve with time.

Episode 8: Initiation Through Hallucination (https://naturalbornalchemist.squarespace.com/episodes/2014/9/27/episode-8-initiation-through-hallucination)

This episode is in two parts and features a conversation with my good friend Andro.

We really enjoyed recording this podcast... There were no preparations, the exchanges were spontaneous and the material is unedited, except for the beautiful music that was inserted.

I think that listening to this podcast may add some interesting insights about having a broader vision on Alchemy and the Hermetic Laws of reality in general.

These are of course only our subjective perspectives, presented for anyone who might find them somewhat useful.

I hope those who chose to listen will enjoy it... It took a bit to 'warm up' during the live recording, but I think there's some good and potentially useful content in there...

just got around to listening to these. I listened to the interviews of sal (ep 24?) and the part one of ormus (ep 27). I enjoyed both of these and disappointed I have not gotten around to the casts before. Anyways, I am curious about the alchemical yoga exercises Sal mentions. Anymore info there?

episode 27, the part one of Ormus, overall I enjoyed it, but I am still on the fence with ormus. My first attempt at making it showed no obvious (or subtle) effects. Positive or Negative. And if I were to be honest, my initial impressions from barry are skeptical. especially during the sections where he speaks of the healing properties. Just seems to really overly stress/ build up the healing parts (as in the story of the cat growing the tail). Also, after looking online and reading things pertaining to ormus and its effects, I feel like the stories are either very similar or just the same stories repeated. aside from that, i am pretty impressed with the rest of it and will download the rest of the casts.

Thanks!

Cool thanks. Appreciate it.

PM Salazius or start a thread on the alchemical yoga requesting more info. I am sure he can assist.

As for Ormus, well for me it is nothing I want to pursue. I am not saying it is bullshit... it is just not something that is attractive... and the Ormus people seem so tense. But it is interesting, but for me it ends with "interesting". You might like part 2 of the Ormus (http://www.naturalbornalchemist.com/episodes/2015/3/15/episode-27-all-the-gold-you-can-eat). ;)

Did a crossover episode. I was a guest at the Free your mind podcast (http://freeyourmindpodcast.libsyn.com), while the host (Bill) of that podcast was a guest at my podcast.

Bill released his version today, you can listen to it HERE (http://hwcdn.libsyn.com/p/1/7/b/17b3ab9e0f3df521/Free_Your_Mind_Podcast_69.mp3?c_id=9911871&expiration=1443407997&hwt=8641829735cbd4d05a06ad6544930062).

The Natural Born Alchemist (http://www.naturalbornalchemist.com) version will appear in a couple of weeks (because I do a different schedule than Bill). The only difference with his and my version is that I will have my own intro music/introduction, and as usual I will finish the episode with some music.

Anyway this was a way to "share" audiences.

Going more professional next year. I will release an episode on the same day every week (Sunday), and every last Sunday of each month will be a very good pre-recorded talk by someone (and unlike before I will talk more about the recording before I play it).

I think it will be good for the audience to have some consitency and regularity. Right now I have about 800 unique downloads every month (don't know how many that listen, but why download and not listen). So it is growing.

Stay tuned.

Dev,

A lot of underground bands play songs related to alchemy/occult... if YOU ask them, 90% of them will let you play their music. That's how I built this web ( http://salonarcano.com.ar/contact.html )... nobody came to me asking to be there, it was always me asking.

I think it is likely that if you ask Edgar Kerval, he'll probably have no problem in letting you broadcast music from some of his multiple projects:
http://salonarcano.com.ar/contenidos/plastica/kerval/index2.html

"If the mountain will not come to Muhammad, then Muhammad must go to the mountain"

You may even ask less underground bands... and probably they won't have a problem either (i.e, Adi Newton of CLOCK DVA - https://www.facebook.com/adi.newton?fref=ts ).

Just ask some musicians...

We have decided to use this version:

From Fulcanelli, new translation

It is true without untruth, certain and most true:
that which is below is like that which is on high, and that which is on high is like that which is below; by these things are made the miracles of one thing.
And as all things are, and come from One, by the mediation of One, So all things are born from this unique thing by adaption.
The Sun is the father and the Moon the mother.
The wind carries it in its stomach. The earth is its nourisher and its receptacle.
The Father of all the Theleme of the universal world is here.
Its force, or power, remains entire,
if it is converted into earth.
You separate the earth from the fire, the subtle from the gross, gently with great industry.
It climbs from the earth and descends from the sky, and receives the force of things superior and things inferior.
You will have by this way, the glory of the world and all obscurity will flee from you.
It is the power strong with all power, for it will defeat every subtle thing and penetrate every solid thing
In this way the world was created.
From it are born wonderful adaptations, of which the way here is given.
That is why I have been called Hermes Tristmegistus, having the three parts of the universal philosophy.
This, that I have called the solar Work, is complete.

It would take 8 short interviews (counting the person who did the drawings).
A nice result could be achieved if each author "reviews" or "comments" the article written by other author instead of praising himself.
Though I know that it's hard to organize 8 interviews and it's hard to edit them in a way that makes sense and keeps the listener interested.

It may be even funnier for the authors to praise (or critique) themselves. But especially funnier :)

I already have some critique about what I wrote there, since perspective is constantly changing/evolving...

And I can praise anyone else on any other day :)

That's another good idea... !

I think it would be nice if the anthology has a podcast with the ones who want to do it...

The IDEAL situation would be if everyone talks... but if some persons are unreachable, it is still possible to do it with almost everyone.

My idea is not making it like an infomercial in which they sell a fantastic knife that can cut 1,000,000 potatoes and a tin can without damaging its edge... but something more interesting than an advert.

I know Andro could make a "voice" that would sound like an infomercial (like a short 30 second bit)... maybe for fun at the end?

Excited to report that Dennis McKenna has agreed to meet me at a congress in Bucharest and do my podcast.

That should be really good. I am sure Dennis has a lot of interesting things to say.

I would also love to hear more about Terrence's ideas on alchemy and his reading lists. I know he does talk about Giordano Bruno. There are a few podcasts on the psychedelic salon, where he talks about hermeticism.

Listening to the MAPS episode made me remember the old movement known as MAP (Manchester Area Psychogeographic) and its related affiliates: LPA (London Area Psychogeographic), AAA (Association of Autonomous Astronauts), the Luther Blissett project, the Neoist Alliance and two folks who were very related to these issues: Jon Eden and Stewart Home... and, of course, the band KLF.

A Podcast with any of them could be AMAZING, specially Jon Eden (http://www.uncarved.org/) who was both involved in mostly all these projects, but also was the underground writer who cared to document their activities in different zines (OV Magazine, Turbulent Times, etc)
Stewart Home (https://www.stewarthomesociety.org/) would be amazing too, though in the last 15 years he moved to other areas (mostly art)... so maybe he doesn't want to talk about these issues nowadays since it's a distant past for him now.

All of them are easy to locate for me, except for the former members of the KLF, who would probably not concede an interview.

In the latest episode (71) (http://www.naturalbornalchemist.com/episodes/2016/5/22/episode-71-buzzkill) I talk to the director of Loose Change which is an important film when it comes to the 9/11 conspiracy, but we don't talk about it at all. I just wanted to mention that Dylan is so sick of that film and wants to not only be the 9/11 guy. So out of respect I agreed to talk about his other films.

Just wanted to say this so no one thinks I was blind to the elephant in the room.

In relation to podcast 75, there is some interesting reading on The Picatrix.

Below is an extract from an article called HERMES TRISMEGISTUS AND MAGIC (http://www.faculty.umb.edu/gary_zabel/Courses/Phil%20281b/Philosophy%20of%20Magic/Philosophy%20Texts/Yates%203.htm)

The Picatrix opens with pious prayers and promises to reveal profound

secrets. For knowledge is the best gift of God to man, to know

what is the root and principle of all things. The primal truth is not a

body, but it is One, One Truth, One Unity. All things come from it and

through it receive truth and unity in the perpetual movement of generation

and corruption. There is a hierarchy in things, and lower things

are raised to higher things; and higher things descend to lower things.

Man is a little world reflecting the great world of the cosmos, but

through his intellect the wise man can raise himself above the seven

heavens.

From this short sample of the philosophy of Picatrix, it can be seen

that the magician bases himself upon a gnosis, an insight into the

nature of the All.

I need some advice.

Just interviewed a fairly famous individual that has written books on alchemy etc. for the podcast. Don't want to say who, but he is somewhat famous in the world of people who like alchemy and ancient history etc.

During the interview we got into an argument because it was revealed that he has certain beliefs that 100 % goes against my own... something I do not tolerate on any level: racism

He also repeated well-known far right-wing propaganda and commented on things about the country I have lived in for 30 years (a country he himself has never even visited to my knowledge). I have read and seen the same propaganda as he has, so I know exactly who and what he is repeating.

In a sense he (indirectly) insulted my wife and the grandfather of my daughter... and many of my friends.

1. delete the episode
2. play it as is and add something at the end
3. play as is and say nothing

For the last few hours I have considered doing all these options... but I cannot seem to decide.

Writing this now I feel option 1 is the only way to go.

There are simply some things I cannot tolerate, and why should I give such people air time?

Adding insult to injury this was also the first guest (from over 100 recorded episodes) that forgot our Skype appointment not once, but twice... and only on the third try did he show up.

--------------------------------------------

A fourth option would be to record an episode where I talk about all this and explain that the episode I was about to play has been deleted etc. and then go into the details of why etc., but never saying who.

Andro

The question I think should be asked: Are you playing the part of the unbiased reporter or do you wish to promote your own convictions as well?

If yo decide to say something after the episode, then IMO only a disclaimer (which should apply to all episodes, actually), saying that what is being said reflects the views of the guest and doesn't necessary reflect/represent the views of the interviewer and of the 'NBA podcast' in general.

If you need to say something additional after playing the interview, it means (IMO) that you should have probably already said it during the interview.

A great reporter/interviewer can touch some 'hot spots' and still keep the appearance of being ethically unbiased, and at the same time diplomatically revealing/emphasizing all the traits of the guest that he wishes to. In other words, you don't have to directly 'hang' anyone, your 'job' is only to provide the rope and the other person will do the rest. The best reporters are really sneaky bastards :) ...

If, on the other hand, the whole NBA podcast initiative is intended to only play stuff that is (more or less) generally in accord with the views of the interviewer, or at least not 180% opposed, then perhaps you shouldn't play the episode at all. Everyone should have the right to express their views on anything, but you also have the right to choose whether they do so on your podcast/platform or not.

Adding something else after the episode (other than a disclaimer) will only make it worse, IMO.

zoas23
11-08-2016, 09:58 AM
I would broadcast it, but adding an OPINION and not a "disclaimer" in the beginning (and NOT in the end).

Probably beginning with something like "Hello, my name is Dev, welcome to NBA... this episode is strange because I admired this person and I was interested in his works, but during the interview I found a lot of racist comments which I completely dislike... I am airing this episode, but I feel the need to say that I am absolutely opposed to racism and the racist ideas expressed by the guest. Also, the ideas about Sweden expressed by the guest do not match the reality of Sweden and I can verify such thing because I live here"... and then the classical "hello, how are you", etc.

It's not a DISCLAIMER, but an OPINION... and it would be a good idea to begin the episode with an OPINION on what happened during the interview.

Though I would suggest to express your opinion BEFORE and not after the episode.

Awani
11-08-2016, 03:01 PM
I certainly never admired this person. ;)

Andro: imagine if he said all gay people are baby rapists and should be imprisoned... how would you feel?

I never see NBA as some debate show. I want to talk to people that has something interesting to say to me. And racism is not interesting. Honestly I think I have decided sleeping on this that I will not play it at all.

And I cannot be unbiased. I fucking hate journalists. There is no such thing as unbiased. Why should I give this guy more exposure?

Thanks for your thoughts.

If you go to most pages of NBA and scroll to the bottom of the page I have added something.

I also understand now why he thought it was important to point out that the Atlanteans were WHITE people. My own daughter is 25 % Arab and 25 % Tartar. So no. This is where I draw the line. Racist thinking and homophobic thinking should be stomped out.

And it is even more important to show this as a white male straight person. I am the top of society. I have to "lead" by example. The more white male straight people stand up against such views the stronger the effect.

Andro: imagine if he said all gay people are baby rapists and should be imprisoned... how would you feel?

I've heard it being said quite often, actually. Even a (relatively new) member of this forum (who probably doesn't know me that well) with whom I exchanged a few PM's about alchemy, mentioned "on the side" that "homosexuality is a disease that should be treated", etc...

So it's not that I'm not used to racism and homophobia (more xenophobia and homophobia in my case, because my meat-sack is still "white"...)

So, if your decision is not to be a standard "journalist", then it's fair game. Go for it and say whatever you think is right! You have my support anyway, but this is not new :)

I think this is admirable.

Watch the movie Pride (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3169706/) if you get the chance, based on a true story in the 80's, where gays and lesbians supported a most 'unlikely' ally: The miners and their strike & work conditions.

Sorry, can't do it for multiple reasons. One of them is: I am living in a part of the world where far-right wing people are becoming almost the biggest political party. Trump is a fucking saint compared to these fuckers. They are a threat to everything I stand for, and my own family and friends.

It is not censorship. I don't want anything to do with people like that... and if they ever gain power and take over the government in a future election I will start a "terrorist" cell. For sure. But from my perspective, and in the history books of the future, we will be Heroes and Freedom Fighters. :)

I am not protecting this guy. After the interview I googled him more in depth and he is very open about these views. He even manage to make them sound patriotic. A lot of my listeners are located in the USA, so I think they will agree more with him than me. Some of you -if you would hear it - might even agree with the guy. Because the propaganda he is repeating is kind of popular, albeit false.

I am also starting to like the fact that I have a "lost episode"... something to keep for the future. Maybe when this guy is dead. He is after all a bit old. LOL.

I'd be interested. For the hell of it, ya know?

I am around to stay, and I know many of you are too. It would be neat to meet each other in a different way than this forum offers. Who knows, we might end up meeting up someday. I don't know how much I would contribute, as I very rarely talk just to talk and absolutely hate small-talk. I like my words to be as meaningful and dense as possible. If you are familiar with personality types, I am INTJ* (http://www.humanmetrics.com/personality/intj) to the fullest, and I happen to be a Gemini too, if astrology is your thing. Doesn't mean I can't cut up with y'all a little though! ;)

*INTJs spend a lot of time inside their own minds, and may have little interest in the other people's thoughts or feelings

*INTJs are natural leaders, although they usually choose to remain in the background until they see a real need to take over the lead

*The INTJ's interest in dealing with the world is to make decisions, express judgments, and put everything that they encounter into an understandable and rational system

*INTJs are the most independent of all the sixteen types and take more or less conscious pride in that independence

*To outsiders, INTJs may appear to project an aura of "definiteness", of self-confidence. This self-confidence, sometimes mistaken for simple arrogance by the less decisive, is actually of a very specific rather than a general nature; its source lies in the specialized knowledge systems that most INTJs start building at an early age. When it comes to their own areas of expertise -- and INTJs can have several -- they will be able to tell you almost immediately whether or not they can help you, and if so, how. INTJs know what they know, and perhaps still more importantly, they know what they don't know.

I am LOVING the episode 105.

A very close friend of mine is probably the main responsible of taking care of the human rights of the refugees in the world, but specially in Europe (from locating them to negotiating with governments and finding them jobs and protecting their rights). He's also the most well-read person I know... and, last but not least, he LOVES alchemy (though I do not know if he would like to talk about such thing in public). He devoted his life to protecting the refugees of wars, political persecutions and racism.

Maybe he can be a future guest if you want to interview a person who can offer a very interesting perspective on the issue (someone who doesn't simply has ideas, but devoted his whole life to protect people who were in difficult circumstances from idiocy, racism and death). Due to the nature of his job, his fluent in many languages, including English.

I am in, but I strongly suggest to use something that is not skype.
I've had to talk as a "group of 10" in skype and it was a complete cacophony and a disaster with a lot of static noise. We had to suspend it and switch to another software that worked fine. Skype isn't good for large groups (if the conference is 4 persons, than I'd say "skype", but if its going to be 10 persons, maybe the software that the others suggested works better).

I can't remember what we used, but it was an online thing... no need to download anything and it worked perfectly (it was a web designed for online courses and adapted for large groups).

LOL... currently working on episodes to be released in 2018. Not saying all episodes are done already for 2017 (far from it)... I don't want to go into details, but the plans and the trajectory of the podcast is no longer a few weeks into the future as in the beginning... nor is it a few months into the future, as it became when I began releasing one every Sunday... now it is entering "years" into the future.

Be careful when you decide to start doing something just for the hell of it... it might completely snowball. Ha ha ha.

Also seems like there is a growing audience. Weekly I've started receiving messages from people I don't know (this never happened during the first 50 or so episodes), and when in episode 104 my guest advised the listeners to donate to the podcast almost a 100 dollars came in from various people - which is very cool. I've certainly spent more money than that doing all this so it was greatly appreciated.

Stay tuned.

I saw there are new pages and some persons who resurrected the AAA (though I do not know if I like the idea). The IDEAL person to talk with would be Jon Eden http://www.uncarved.org/ ... He was the most interesting person who linked all those counter-culture movements and the true heart of the AAA in the UK.... and the publisher of Turbulent Times (among many zines), which was probably the best source of information on that movement of ideas that included The AAA, Psychogeography (London Psychogeographical Association (http://www.unpopular.org.uk/lpa/organisations/lpa.html), Manchester Area Psychogeography (http://www.twentythree.plus.com/MAP/), Nigel Ayers (http://www.nigelayers.com/) of the band Nocturnal Emissions (http://www.earthlydelights.co.uk/), etc), Neoism (specially Stewart Home (https://www.stewarthomesociety.org/), who did an AMAZING book on that whole "movement" https://www.amazon.com/Mind-Invaders-Cultural-Sabotage-Terrorism/dp/1852425601 ), Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth (http://www.ain23.com/topy.net/), the Luther Blissett (http://www.lutherblissett.net/) project, etc.

I have not spoken to Jon since some 15 years ago, but probably some friends are still in touch with him. I BELIEVE he will talk about it from a historical point of view, BUT he will be the best if he wants to talk about something that is probably "the past" for him. He is tricky and his page never showed an e-mail... but I will ask some friends, someone has to still be in touch with him and he is THE person to talk with. Give me some time and I'll find the amazing Jon... if he doesn't want to talk about the AAA, then I will ask some friends about who would be the other ideal candidate... though I assume that Jon will accept.

Ha... I would love to talk to him again, it would be like a time-travel. Give me a few days.

The Episode 139 "Sacred Acoustics", about "brainwave entrainment audio meditation" was very interesting.

After having listened to the podcast, I tried the free sample and it worked better for me than the usual binaural beats used/made by the Monroe Institute or Tom Campbell.

"Sacred Acoustics" added different technologies to the traditional "Binaural Beats": "The convergence of four technologies, monaural and binaural beats, holographic sound and cymatics produces Neural-Helix, a very powerful brainwave entrainment delivery system."[https://www.sacredacoustics.com/pages/technology]

The free sample seduced me enought to make me think about ordering a "complete" track.
