If you hadn't guessed by this point, I am aware of senses beyond the five commonly recognized physical senses, and not as assumptions or conjecture, but as fact.

I would love to hear more about these senses DS...if you would elaborate.

I am aware of senses beyond the five commonly recognized physical senses ESP according to Encyclopędia Britannica (http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/199119/extrasensory-perception-ESP):

ExtraSensory Perception (ESP), perception (http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/451015/perception) that occurs independently of the known sensory processes. Usually included in this category of phenomena are telepathy (http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/585989/telepathy), or thought (http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/593468/thought) transference between persons; clairvoyance (http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/119624/clairvoyance), or super-normal awareness (http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/46015/awareness) of objects or events not necessarily known to others; and precognition (http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/474457/precognition), or knowledge of the future. Scientific investigation of these and similar phenomena dates from the late 19th century, with most supporting evidence coming from experiments involving card guessing. Subjects attempt to guess correctly the symbols of cards hidden from their view under controlled conditions; a better-than-chance percentage of correct calls on a statistically significant number of trials is considered to be evidence of ESP. Although many scientists continue to doubt the existence of ESP, people who claim this ability (http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/1300/ability) are sometimes used by investigative teams searching for missing persons or things.

Extra "sensory" perception is a sense outside the senses?

The mind is outside the senses.
More so.
Synethesia is an interesting phenomena.
One that I personally have.

When one of the senses breaks loose of its normal cage. It is able to mix with the rest of the senses. Resulting in extra sensory.

From what I have researched.
My Synethesia is likened to having extremely overactive mirror nurons.
"I can feel everything and anything I put my attention on"
I don't emotionally feel things. I feel them like their a part of my skins senses.
For instance, I can feel every twitch in a person's body language. As well as my own.
I can also feel the fluctuations in ton of voice.
Etc etc etc.
I can feel the music. ;)
I can feel what I visualize.

The wikipedia article on 'sense' is interesting since it it admits that what constitutes a sense is somewhat undefined and up for debate. They speak of the 'traditional senses' as well as numerous other senses found in the human, animal and plant worlds.

What constitutes ESP or how it works is certainly up for debate, I myself have had some interesting experiences with what I affectionately call 'cosmic telephone'. During moments of profound relaxation, harmony or peace, it has happened that I think strongly of a person or have a strong outward projection of an energy or emotion only for it to be received or picked up by someone often far away, perhaps of a natural inclination or fine tuning towards the idea of ESP but not necessarily. The common' example is when you call somebody up and they say "I was just thinking about you". I have old friends or acquaintances sometimes on other continents contact me -out of the blue- and describe vivid dreams of me doing things incredibly relevant to what i was doing. Though infrequent, some examples have been uncanny. During moments of 'grace' or mystical rapture the power is particularly potent. I have connected -in real time- with family and friends during these moments and often with a direct will to send vibratory energy towards that specific person. I was enthralled in a deep blissful moment the other day, I could literally feel all my channels flung wide open to the point of crying and laughing at the same time. I thought of my ex girlfriend with a slight underlying hunch that I'd met her in a previous life, I will-fully projected the vibration and thought outwardly and though we have very little contact she sent me a (terrestrial phone) msg minutes later of a very open and warm nature.

I study vibratory phenomena through Cymatics and practice it as Cymagick. It is now my understanding that all things are in a state of vibration. Matter, sound, the visible spectrum, radio waves, micro waves, gamma rays, thought, intent, emotion, consciousness and spirit.

The way I see it, ESP operates using the same basic fabric or material as the emitting and receiving of radio waves and other types of electro magnetic radiation (vibration, commonly measured in cycles per second.) E.S.P. = COSMIC TELEPHONE. I have little understanding how it all works but then again I feel the same about radio transmission.

People speak as if we have only 5 senses. However, we really have a lot more sensory input from many sources. One thing that most don't consider is the chakra energies. One can use each chakra as an input device for sensing. It takes practice. Like microwaves, they can be perceived as energy to heat water or as a carrier of information.
