This is from 2012 and something I had missed... watched it tonight. It's like a mix between Network (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_(film)) and Natural Born Killers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_Born_Killers). It's very good IMO.

Get it on: PirateBay (http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/7360100/God_Bless_America_2011_LIMITED_DVDRip_XviD-AMIABLE)

Bobcat Goldthwait's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobcat_Goldthwait) other films are also cool, like World's Greatest Dad (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World%27s_Greatest_Dad) and Shakes the Clown (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shakes_the_Clown).

Not sure about this one, did it have a message?

Seemed like the main characters were just a different type of weird; they
had their hangups just like everyone else.

Or was that what the film was trying to depict; we are all the same?

I did enjoy it

Well its dark comedy/satire...

I think the message was pretty clear... why pretend to have a civilization when we are not even civilized. But true art lies with the beholder.

Also shooting Simon Cowell and Bill O´Reilly archetypes in the face is always nice. :)
