may have nothing to do with alchemy but not sure where else to put it... thought it was interesting. the green which turns red and becomes a "rebis"...
could have relation to vitriol paths...

A method of producing red copper that isn't actually the oxide and would presumably react more usefully with things sounds interesting, especially since sodium and sulphur turn up in quite a lot of recipes. My basic idea is that a lot of alchemical materials that are mentioned end up that way as much by accident as by design, and often use elements and compounds you wouldn't think of it you were thinking like a modern chemist.
