This is a text of much interest me and my group in Italy we have fully translated into audio cassettes (which are available to those who want it are unfortunately only in Italian ) but it should be noted that the name of the material with which to work in the text is given in three Hebrew letters are trying to decipher

So now here I attach the link of the page with the Hebrew word of matter alchemical mineral with which operate (as is said in the text nb this text seem is based on matter obtained from the extraction of oil of vitriol etc similar as we can found it also in the 3 part of catena aurea ), this is the page where it is contained if someone who knows the Hebrew language can please help us and translate it maybe androgynus or other traurre this Hebrew word I think that would be very interesting to deepen consequently the operation of the text Experientia Naxagorae, Secundum Annulos Platonicos, Et Catenam Auream Homeri

The name of the material with which to work in the text is given in three Hebrew letters.

The letters are פ נ ת or P N Th

I have no idea what they mean.

Some further context may help, because the page you posted ends with "if we [translate?] these letters into Greek..." (continued on the following page)

So please post a link to the next page, maybe it will shed some light.

Otherwise, I have no idea what this root means.

Maybe get the English version, in case the Alchemists who participated in the translation have already given it a good interpretation.

Maybe Bel Matina (http://forum.alchemyforums.com/member.php?8055-Bel-Matina) would know, but he hasn't logged in for quite some time... He's the master linguist here :)

Or ask Sam (http://forum.alchemyforums.com/member.php?7743-sam)...

Not very helpful, unfortunately :)

The text says something like:

"Whoever knows how to translate (?) these letters to Greek will have the true name of the Magnesia or of the Materia of our Philosopher's Stone."

So it's not really revealing anything plainly.

Sorry.

Alfr, I just don't know. It's beyond my cross-lingual abilities.

Either PM Bel Matina, or just ignore that one word, instead of treating it like it's going to reveal some great secret. It won't.

Writers often make things super-confusing by inventing 'novelty' terms, such as 'My Tessa' (Ali Puli).

Like I always say, better focus on principles, like the continuum/ladder/chain & mediums of matter manifestation and evolution, and leave alone the search for this or that matter.

Just my opinion.
