An excerpt from The Hermetica - The Lost Wisdom of the Pharaohs,
as translated by Timothy Freke & Peter Gandy.

Just read this book and liked this part:

Rebirth (http://pkl.net/~node/2RCD/Wisdoms3/)

No one can be saved,
until he is born again.
If you want to be reborn
purify yourself
of the traditional torments of matter.
The first of these is ignorance.
The second is grief.
Third is lack of self-control.
Fourth is desire.
Fifth is injustice.
Sixth is greed.
Seventh is deceit.
Eighth is envy.
Ninth is treachery.
Tenth is anger.
Eleventh is rashness.
Twelfth is malice.
Under these twelve are many more,
which force the man who is bound
to the prison of the body,
to suffer from the torments they inflict.

But by Atum's [God's] mercy,
they may all depart
and be replaced by understanding.
This is the nature of rebirth.
This is the only road to reality...

Two more quotes I like...

Atum [God] creates the Cosmic Mind.
The Cosmic Mind creates the Cosmos.
The Cosmos creates Time.
Time creates Change...

...the essence of Change is Life...

The Cosmic Mind is an image of Atum [God].
The Cosmos is an image of the Cosmic Mind.
The sun is an image of the Cosmos.
Man is an image of the sun.

The Primal Mind,
which is Life and Light,
being bisexual,
gave birth to the Mind of the Cosmos.
The Primal Mind is ever unmoving,
eternal and changeless,
containing within it this Cosmic Mind
which is imperceptible to the senses.
The Cosmos which sense perceives
is a copy and image
of this eternal Cosmic Mind,
like a reflection in a mirror.

HOWEVER... :)

These are ALL relative polarities, each on its respective Scale/Continuum.

Here, they are presented (or at least hinted to) as 'absolutes', and 'I' can't possibly subscribe to that.

Where on the thermometer does cold end and heat begin ? ? ?

Same for every other dualistic relative polarity on the list.

Still, it's a very good list for those on the Yogic Path/Soldier's Path/Warrior Path.

But it's completely inadequate for the Royal Path.

Those on the Royal Path (non-duality, etc...) do not think/feel/process in those terms.

This being said, attaining those 'virtues' can serve as useful transitional practice...

The Primal Mind,
which is Life and Light,
being bisexualI think this might be some translation error... 'androgynous' would be the appropriate term, since it indicates an inseparably unified state rather than an orientation ('bisexual').

Again, I.M.S.U.

Those on the Royal Path (non-duality, etc...) do not think/feel/process in those terms.

To be on the Royal Path then a person would not have any of those traits? Very few people in the history of the world enjoy such a position. I am all for non-duality and absolutes... but it is impossible for anyone alive in this world at this moment not to be affected by it... and if "they" were not... if they were fully on the Royal Path (as you call it) then, in my opinion, they would not be in this realm at all.

Sure a person can decide not to view his greed as greed, or see greed as greed... but if it is greed it is greed. The only way to separate from greed is to not have greed, not take part in greed... go beyond greed. Go to the point when greed breaks into giving... not greed having, but greed giving... etc...

So yes one can think, feel, experience something as whatever, but if greed is the outcome then there is no escape.

This being said, attaining those 'virtues' can serve as useful transitional practice...

I agree to this, but what I don't agree to is that there is ONE single individual alive today that has fully transitioned to the other side, and is walking fully on the Royal Path. Whomever says they do/are is a charlatan. They can strive towards that position, they can touch it with their fingertips... but they will never BE it...

An enlightened person ascend... they don't stick around.

Of course it all comes down to how we define someone that is enlightened. Another topic I guess... as for me I set the bar pretty high.

Yes. Can't BE while still in the Relative/Subjective/Knowable, which is impossible anyway... but some glimpses can occur at 'times' :)

An enlightened person ascend... they don't stick around.

Yes again. That's why I refer to it as a 'path' (for lack of a better term) and not as an already attained state.

Through such transitional phases (one of the possibilities), we may move towards Non-Duality, but once 'there', then we're no more 'here' :)
