1) A lot of persons and academics believe that Robert Temple go confused and that the Dogn tribe had no knowledge of the "invisible" twin if Sirius, but that they were talking about another visible star and Temple got confused (without having bad intentions).

2) There is a FANTASTIC film called "Afrodita" / "Aphrodite" by PABLO CESAR, an Argentinean director (a close friend of mine) who filmed a FANTASTIC movie with the Dogon tribe.
The plot of the movie is very simple:
He explained the history of Aphrodite, Hades and Ares to the Dogon tribe and made them design clothes and dances to represent the story.
The actors are 100% members of the Dogon tribe...
The "twist" of the movie is that Aphrodite is a transvestite in this story (it is a homo-erotic) version of the myth, the Dogon had no problem with it.
It is hard to find it. The movie is spoken in a mix of Greek, Latin and Dogon language... an "ad hoc" language invented by Pablo.

The movie can be the most beautiful movie you'll ever watch if you manage to get it.

Having talked with Pablo about this FANTASTIC movie, he told me something interesting: the Dogons gave him no problems, but ONLY asked one thing from him: he was not allowed to step on any stone, if he did, the movie was over and they were not going to act anymore (some sort of "taboo" or "prohibition" that the tribe has).

The move is very experimental, but mostly because Pable allowed the Dogons to act "their way", so their ways of acting are incredibly different than what we are used to see in traditional cinema.
If you can get a copy of it, you won't regret it. I promise it.

Cool, and did some searching online but so far can't find it. But I'll add it to my list for sure.
