Using a unique inverted triangle array of LED lights that interlock to create a series of hexagrams, PandoraStar stimulates various brain regions by focusing rays of light on the retinas. Through closed eyelids, users experience a “visible” frequency entrainment of kaleidoscopic patterns of colours and psychedelic imagery, which provides an immersive environment for deep level brainwave entrainment.

Ever asked someone: "Have you seen the movie Solaris?" and got a "yes, I love George Clooney" as an answer?

Those are situations that make you wanna murder someone!

This Pandora Box thing is simply a cheap and silly imitation of the original and unbeatable Dream Machine. Will the effect by incredibly different? Probably not... but a REAL Dream Machine will for sure link you to a tradition of avant-garde electric shamanism, poetry, counter-culture... whilst this Pandora Box may link you to this guy pressing that silly button of an poorly designed machine ("to prgram it again you have to unplug it, because we are to lazy as to make it practical!").

Yeah, sometimes a Remake can be remarkable... like Herzog's Nosferatu... I like his version. But this Pandora Box is George Clooney, not Klaus Kinski!!!

This is my own Dream Machine, it's 20 years old and it's still kicking!

You CAN create a Dream Machine by yourself and have the "real thing" instead of the cheap imitation... it is not expensive, it is very easy, it is even fun... Just use these two documents:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/1fj6MDdFL4YfavADUhMixXIrjjJzJrA59kGKrB-Km6XMrtT7_NP4Db-UuEcLR/edit?pref=2&pli=1
http://ultraculture.org/blog/2013/11/27/build-dream-machine/

(The FIRST one is complete, but the second one has some notes which may help in some practical details).

AND if you are lazy, then get the real thing here:
http://www.dreamstate.org.uk/products

Or use google to find other Dream Machine vendors (though what they sell is identical to what you CAN build by yourself).

Last, but not least, a documentary about this living myth:

And if you are too lazy as to build one and the already built ones are too expensive for you as to give them a try... just get a normal strobe light with adjustable speed... the effect will be similar and you won't have to get involved with weird imitations.

An extra dose of persuasion... a cult classic inspired by the dream state of the Dream Machine and the cut-up technique... Two things which are linked by tradition:

(Nice images of Brion Gysin and William Burroughs with several Dream Machines after a few minutes of the initial madness).

LOL. Exactly and in my case I have not seen the Clooney version...

Reminds me of a time when I talked to a dude about my love of classic old films and he said he loved it as well... I said oh really what films you like? And he said "Silence of the Lambs". Not really classic cinema... considering this even took place only 10 years after that movie was released... When I speak of classic films I was more referring to 2001, Nosferatu (original), Vertigo etc... ;)

I am aware of the Dream Machine and I have the inventor of the PandoraStar on the podcast in the future (so he can explain himself). He he.

I'm sorry for being TOO biased against this Pandora thing... Thankfully I'm not the one who's gonna interview him, or the interview would last less than 5 minutes before he yells at me saying: "Fuck off!".

("Interesting design... why not simply using a strobe light which will obviously produce the same effect?")
("How does it feel to plagiarize Brion Gysin and arrive to something that clearly looks worst?").

Other than that... I guess that the effect of the Pandora and the Dream Machine are not incredibly different and it's an AMAZING tool that really beats any other kind of psychedelic experience (at least that's my opinion).

EDIT: The silence of the lambs.... ! LOL. We sometimes have to be like Zen Masters to endure these situations... ! :p

I doubt it beats a "real" psychedelic experience... :)

I've tested it in a group of 10 year old kids (yes, this isn't a "narcotic" and it's safe and legal for minors).

The review I got from one of them was: "WOW, this is a thousand times better than Santa and owning a duck!".

EDIT: and you can imagine how incredibly cool is to own a duck! ;)
