This is a Phoenix-thread (http://forum.alchemyforums.com/showthread.php?t=7) from the old site (http://alchemy-forums.forumotion.com/forum.htm).

I call this thread Spiritual Dissolution in case there might be threads on Practical Dissolution - and I'd like to avoid confusion (although both are two sides of the same coin)! ;)

After Calcination (http://forum.alchemyforums.com/showthread.php?t=49) we have Dissolution. The following image is a great description of what this process consist of:

In Dissolution, we make active use of the waters of emotion in order to re-own, or take charge again of, our natural emotions - in other words, it takes expression of emotion to access and integrate the original and necessary emotional core within us. - source (http://www.alchemylab.com/AJ2-2.htm#The%20Alchemy%20in%20Spiritual%20Progress)
We are mostly made of water... and a lot of this water is kept locked up deep inside us... we need to open the floodgates and let it stream forth. We need to immerse ourselves into the unconscious and rejected parts of our mind.

In VITRIOL this step is Interiora, in other words the inner part of us (the source of our emotions). Dissolution is kind of a sort of self-therapy. To make a modern allegory it is almost like coming out of the closet to yourself.

We can't reject who we truly are, and some people are so self-protective that they don't even know who they are.

The element of Dissolution is of course water, which makes it both a lunar & feminine process, so pay heed to Isis!

Please share your Dissolution experiences!
