All the pics starting with the Geometry are Charles De Bovelles. The color images are from his Opera Philosophorum, 1510. A full set of the images can be found here

It's definitely the Wheel of Fortune, below it says "Fortuna Rotunda" (and up top it has "Fortuna" as well). The Wheel of Fortune far pre-dates Tarot, and sometimes the same ideas are expressed instead with a set of Scales.. as one side ascends, the other descends.

on the right is the "Mirror of Wisdom".

Who is the author and from when is that last image?
The left person seems to carry the roue de la fortune:

I read a different bit of prose on the subject, where Apollo's jealousy brought him to summon the scorpion whilst Orion fled to the sea, eventually being killed. Interesting note: The scorpion king glyphs from Egypt depict a scorpion in the sun (Apollo). I believe this story is one of the ancient methods of preserving the recipe for the stone.

I forgot: Scorpio's tail is also facing the wrong direction.

some keywords on that would be "windrose", "compass rose", "rhumb lines/rhumbline network".

At other times, the "cardinal directions" would be landmarks or other locations.. like "to jerusalem" or.. "towards the mountain", etc.

Then there's occident and orient for West and East, derived from "falling" and "rising" (of the Sun). Actually many words from "east" are derived from the "rising of the sun". (The German part of my family has the surname of Oster)

These are awesome! I especially like the depiction of Mercury in that first image. Interesting backstory about the winds, never knew that.

    Keep 'em coming!

I'm really disappointed with Copernic. Supposedly, it's indexing is finished again, and it compressed it and everything. But I've been running some tests, and it's finding nothing. Not even file names I'm copying and pasting directly from file explorer. Not even text I'm copying from a text file that it says has been indexed. I've re-configured it so each top level folder is explicitly added to the list, instead of just the root drive. I'm giving it one more try and then I'm done with it.

I think they've fixed windows search though.. I gave it a phrase in quotes and it seems to have successfully searched it out, and not each word.

LookDisk is interesting, I'm definitely going to give it a.. look. Everything says it searches file contents, but doesn't build an index.. so it would have to crawl through my 300gb of files each time.

I'm going to see if I can find any info on the windows search update.. and it looks like I'll be pitting dtsearch and lookdisk against each other head -to-head.

LookDisk is what I use and love. It is incredibly efficient.

I have used Everything as well with great success but do prefer LookDisk.

Yeah teeth are feeling much better, especially now that the gums are healing from the dentist's brutality. Im a lot more conscious now about my teeth then I was before, now that I know there is still hope. Its very rare that you're actually healthier then you thought. Its often the other way round where you think you're healthy and then bang, heart attack lol.

I have the medical for this new job next week so we'll find out exactly how healthy I am.

I’ve never heard of plaque forming a thick barrier around the tooth, so well done being the first! Lol

Definitely skip the sugar with those new pearls.

Sounds like you lucked out with your dentist.. It's really hit or miss.. Especially with new dentists who are "associates" at a dental practice, there seems to be an emphasis on bill, bill, bill, almost like a lawyer, so they tend to recommend drastic, expensive solutions.. (unlike the old family dentists who focus on fixing and patching).

I like my dentist, he's very competent. His own practice is only open half-time, the other half he travels to do extractions and whatnot for other dentists. I guess he's a bit of a specialist.

That said, because of my experiences in the past, I still need to be on a Halcyon to walk in that door, and IV sedation for any kind of work.
