Even if it doesn't seem like it, this spirit is always rendered tangible from a (THE?) source (such as space/air/earth/metals/minerals/blood/urine/rain/dew/etc - depending how one chooses to work).

In its non-corporeal state, glass is not an obstacle in its path. But if we want to keep it for our Work in tangible form, we do need the Moon...

Spiritus Mundi is the world spirit. Does this mean that it is terrestrial? No!

The spirit is actually celestial and attracts towards the sun if it is not trapped artificially. It is easily excitable in ambient temperatures.

Anima Mundi is the soul of the world The soul exists within the earth. We see this in our microcosmic flasks.

GG says that SM flies towards the Sun. This would make it volatile and Celestial. So, if the SM flies towards the Sun, what brings it back? You seem to suggest that heat drives the SM away in the mornings AND that heat attracts SM at night, the pyramids retaining heat. So the heat both repels and attracts the same SM depending on whether the surrounding temps are either warmer or cooler. Can you see why it's hard to accept?

It's more likely that SM is formed within the bowels of the earth and because of its affinity with the sun, forces its way upwards being propelled by the internal heat of the globe AND its own attraction towards the celestial. Once it has escaped through the earth's crust, it attracts towards the sun, the place from where it originally manifested before it was encapsulated within the earth.

The most volatile SM escapes out towards the upper atmosphere and beyond, while the less volatile parts loom lower and so mix with the rarified humidity within the air, cools on account of its altitude and motion and then falls as rain, sleet, snow, hail and dew, fermenting the earth with its spiritous essence.

That most volatile spirit which escapes is an aging factor for the earth. It's departure over time cause the earth to exhale or expand. This accounts for the increasing size of the globe and the continental drift theory.

What I do know, is that Animus Mundi or the soul of the world, is an oily and unctuous entity. Ironically, we find a lot of oil in our deserts. We also find it under the sands of our oceans. I wonder, are we sucking the soul out of our planet for profit when other means are available to us? Hmmm!

As for water being an enemy of SM, well , I'd have to disagree here as well. Water is set into motion by the earth's heat AND that heat which derives from above. It rises as well towards the sun and purifies on its journey upwards. The most volatile parts of the water make it high into the outer atmosphere and exists as ozone and hydrogen. The Suns energetic rays impinge on these rarified particles and lights up our globe...heats our atmosphere, makes our planet conducive to the production of LIFE! Space is cold and dark place. Our planet exists within this dark and cold chasm.

So water and SM would seem to share some type of principle in common with one another. Water is after all divisible into Hydrogen and Oxygen. And these are in turn divisible as well and to what end? SM perhaps?

This looks interesting alfr.

Volkamer used to work for BASF. His publications however are sorted more into the "esoteric" genre.
The book is ten years old, so it was already there when the "hype" started here.

Two things are intetesting from the snipped you provided:

1. It's invisible (doesn't fit with some observations from here)

2. It has no side effects (doesn't match either, especially to what Salazius often said)

A lot of other things however match with some of my thoughts on this topic however. Maybe I'll give it a try.

Do you know of a german version alfr? I thought there would be one as the author is german, but couldn't find it.

Reich claimed to have discovered "Orgone" energy, which he called "Life Force". The conditions for optimal "Orgone" accumulation are surprisingly coinciding with a high UV index, i.e. strong sun, closer to equatorial latitudes, higher altitudes, no clouds or too much vegetation (or anything else that can retain charge). Interestingly, these are also some of the conditions required by some alchemical authors for the condensation of the alchemical spirit. Another interesting linguistic "coincidence" is the similarity between Black Sun/Black Light in alchemy and "Blacklight" also being used to describe UV light. Light (across all its alleged 93 octaves) is the foundation of the so-called electromagnetic force. Visible light is less than one octave. Sound is also part of the EM spectrum. Read the Kybalion chapter on Vibration and maybe watch THIS VIDEO and THIS ONE and THIS ONE.

When light interacts with mass/magnetic fields, there is measurable voltage/charge. The voltage/charge from UV is higher than from IR (for example). According to Alexander Wunsch, our skin (largest organ) also works like a photovoltaic panel. The healing effects that can be obtained from cautious UV exposure can be seen as similar to the alleged healing effects of "Orgone". Dielectric materials/capacitors are used in "Orgone" accumulators. Good dielectric mediums are ceramic, glass, plastic, distilled water - and vacuum is also excellent

I'm not saying there is an actual direct correlation between "Orgone", UV light and the alchemical spirit - I just find it interesting to mention. According to The Kybalion, Spirit is the highest possible vibration. Maybe we need to go slowly in increasing (multiplying?) the charge, so we don't get burned, and therefore start with lower octaves that are nevertheless above the ones we currently operate on?

Interesting contribution Andro. In fact it is true that exponential increasing in alchemy (as well as in spiritual) needs a regular rythm, like a stairway, otherwise most probably the proceedia will end in a chaos or even worse. A mass input is not suitable for an evolution.
That is why it is recommended a prior preparation of the matters, as well as for the alchemist himself.

I bought that book Alfr...

It is very interesting and certainly brings SM in to the light of 'scientific examination'. Mind you it still doesn't do much to help the budding alchemist acquire SM which is always a huge disappointment, nevertheless, very informative and there are some useful information there such as which chemical processes work toward increasing the quantitative yield of SM.
