    Poetry

    Feel free to post your own poetry in this thread if you wish...

    Here's something I was inspired to write while exploring an altered-state.

    Mental Chains

    -You've got mail, straight from hell,
    From behind the veil, where inner-demons dwell.
    Just ask an angel that's fell, your mind is Lucifer's cell..

    You ever want to travel outside yourself,
    To a realm of your own with nobody else?
    Experience a sensation that's never been felt,
    A dimension where your mind and soul will melt.

    Resurrect your mental, no hope for the physically dead,
    Meditate on explosive paradoxes to blow off the head.
    Transmutation of the body to gold from lead,
    Aura stained black where the soul's been bled.

    Until you begin to realize that death's only a word,
    Like music don't exist if it can't be heard.
    Free your spirit from it's cage and let it fly like a bird..

    Anything's possible when you free your mind,
    Look to the future or turn back the hands of time.
    Reverse the wrongs you've done and you may find,
    Karma's a reality so try to be kind.
    -LOVE ALL LIFE-
    Between right and wrong exists a fine line,
    But when your path is righteous, you'll feel it inside.
    To be untrue to yourself is the worse kind of crime,
    Or give in to the evil if you feel that I'm lying.
    Now who's responsible to comfort the crying,
    Do they call it a death-bed because dreaming's like dying??

    Now heed my words and try hard to listen,
    Expand your mind to find what's been missing,
    While the body's on earth, the mind's in another dimension.
    I lecture to educate with no other mission,
    fly as high as the sky until my eyes will glisten..

    I'll play with your mind like a violin,
    Silent yet deadly as a violent wind.
    Stab you in the back, your best two-faced friend,
    I'm the insecurities you've yet to mend.
    -You've got mail, to respond press send..

    A swirl of cells in telepathic waves,
    Utilize your 3rd-eye to explore the darkest caves,
    While on a mission to break the chains of the mental-slaves.
    May you find the total-sum of all the pleasures you crave,
    And live life to it's fullest until your final day!!!!!
    -No more mail, press end to save....

    Bjork's poetic introduction to her website seems to reveal a very alchemical philosophy

    Nibiru, I really liked much of your poem and feel you have quite a lot of potential along that avenue of creative expression. Here is something I wrote awhile back:

    Decision at the Altar of Learning

    A ring of laughter
    Spread around the fire
    As we recounted the words
    Of the young anthropologist:
    "You people have 40 words for snow."
    "No, we told him,
    "We have one word for snow
    ...Same as you.
    But spend your remaining years
    Here,
    In this world of snow
    That encircles us
    And one-day your offspring
    Will explain to you
    The other 39 things
    We were pointing at."

    And thanks for the link. Yes, Bjork: hyper-creative, hyper-individualistic (yet possessing a social conscience) and, indeed, there’s something very alchemical about her - or, at the very least, is someone I’d liken to “a force of nature” (as the expression goes).

    A quote from a YouTube viewer:

    “Bjork speaks to us in a language before our time where poetic expression and communication were the same thing. Many people find her odd because tragically we are losing our general sense of individualism. The sensation I feel when I listen to her music is like a spear piercing a grey sky and with it comes this intense technicolour experience that is uplifting and haunting in equal measure. Why? Because through her uniqueness we hear echoes of a time when we used to LIVE not exist.”

    Coincidently, Androgynus recently mentioned my other favorite female composer/vocalist, Sinead O’Conner - another very HUman artist.

    Albion, thank you for posting these I'd have to agree about the talent of Sinead O'Connor as well, there are many artists that seem to channel spirit through their works and these are the ones that I feel move me.

    I really enjoy your Zen writing style, I'd like to hear more sometime..

    Okay, just this once .

    I wrote this poem three years ago immediately after seeing a photo my sister sent me of my nephew Archie.

    The Novitiate Enters His Second Year

    His smile:
    a genuine response, in kind,
    to the familiar presence
    of his photographer...
    while, from deeper springs,
    radiates that dynamic aura
    of pure wonderment -
    the sponsor of all future questions
    and sure clue of the tether-continuum
    of his local consciousness from and to
    the ever-clear awareness of his higher self
    (or quantum presence) -
    itself a step-down transformer
    of First Source, of the All in all.

    So, fearlessly incarnating
    into this seeming maelstrom
    (which, nevertheless,
    obligingly has expanded
    and continues to expand
    to accommodate and incorporate
    his unique soul-pattern, will,
    proclivities and offerings),
    he instantly ventures forth
    to gather and to integrate
    manifold experiences;
    gradually gaining ground
    from previous explorers,
    and guided intuitively
    through his inbuilt wholeness-navigator,
    he develops an ever more
    robust and self-assured dialectic
    with multiple frontiers which he
    cognitively, meditatively and relationally
    explores and intellectually maps,
    so as to trace the fine format of creation,
    and gradually to fathom the wealth
    of what has always already been his -
    including the limitless depths of potential
    resident both in the external spectrum of possibilities
    available for his moment-to-moment choices and desires
    as well as the internal wellspring available
    for his own individual creative expression:
    in the arena of his perceivable world,
    through the venue of his local multiverse (soul),
    and with the deceptively simple palate
    of the heart’s virtues
    of appreciation, compassion, forgiveness,
    humility, valor and understanding -
    which offer, in each unique situational context,
    a kaleidoscopic array of possible combinations
    for expressing the proper vibrational fractal
    of the sponsoring signature of love that he is -
    an art and activity which also serves
    to help keep him disentangled and free
    from all negative, reactive, time-bound dramas
    as he daily strives to cut his way
    through any illusory labyrinth
    that has or would dare to
    occlude or call into question
    the primary, existential awareness
    and eternal validity of his (and other’s)
    a-priory coexistence with Source;
    tracing, discerning and projecting
    the outlines and implications
    of all ideas, memes or premises
    so as to see through and bypass
    any and all concepts or precedents,
    circuitry or programming,
    self-deception or dishonesty
    that would lure, baffle, detour, trap, enfold,
    enslave, settle or stagnate his consciousness
    into any merely-mentally-circumscribed
    ad-hoc identity or closed-system-cosmos
    however subtle, complex or expansive.
    Not fearing death,
    nor separation,
    nor non-existence,
    nor any interior terrain
    where the local mind cannot, as yet,
    (or perhaps ever)
    provide him sure companionship -
    he therefore is ever willing to surrender
    and thus transcend (though not discard)
    that bell-jar’s transparent limitations,
    that his mind might ever be
    informed, reformed and refined
    by the light and criteria
    of the heart’s greater perception;
    he now stands:
    in ever more steadfast joy,
    in a transparent world bereft of illusion;
    simultaneously abandoned to providence
    while fully active in forging his future;
    gladly (or reluctantly) willing to undergo
    whatever discipline progress may require...
    (without the attendant religious morbidity
    that comes of taking oneself too seriously);
    awake and aware: as a Sovereign-Integral -
    his infinite/eternal self
    now realizing itself in the All -
    while yet within the human instrument;
    discerning, embodying, expressing and transmitting
    (both locally and, invariably to the whole)
    unconditional oneness, equality and truthfulness -
    his individual calling and his obligations
    to humanity and the greater multiverse
    now dovetailing toward the hope
    that First Source might inhabit
    and transform the dimensional worlds.

    So... what a rush...
    to be launched headlong into this realm
    of puzzling sensory overload -
    yet to be mastered;
    bearing a task and destiny -
    yet to be articulated
    [hence the wonderment].
    And yet, how reassuring, and fortuitous,
    to be greeted by these kindred spirit-beings
    (apparently undergoing a similar adventure)
    who have one’s welfare so clearly at heart
    [hence the smile].

    Thank you Albion!! I really feel I needed to read that at this moment, I know you said the poem was inspired by your nephew but to quote Androgynus:

    Most likely The Author of the song/book/poem had no idea who you are, yet he/she wrote something that was SO close to your heart, that you felt it was written for you...

    In short:

    When you read something about which you're not sure if it was directly addressed to you or not:

    IF it speaks to you, IF it strikes a chord, IF it touches you in a special way - then it was definitely written for YOU.

    Who it was originally addressed to, doesn't really matter at this stage (IMO).

    Who was The Universe created for?

    That was certainly gratifying to hear.

    So glad it spoke to you.

    And if it was even meant only for you
    (beyond what I gained in the writing of it),
    I’d consider the endeavor worthwhile.

    THE SECOND COMING

    Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.
    Surely some revelation is at hand;
    Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
    The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
    When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
    Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;
    A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
    A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
    Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
    Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds.
    The darkness drops again but now I know
    That twenty centuries of stony sleep
    Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
    And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
    Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

    - William Butler Yeats
