    The Neverending Story

I used to love this film as a kid... just realized that the talisman, called AURYN, in the film was this:

In the book version it apparently says "Do what thou wilt" on the back. So it is like a Crowley/Alchemy talisman really.

Yeah it's like an Ouroboros Yin Yang.

With a little bit of Celtic Knot to tie it all together

Interesting that it is called 'The Gem'
Art is Nature in the flask; Nature is a vial thing.

We could consider it as a symbol of the philosopher stone. Two natures intricated and perfectly equilibrated, in a knot of infinite, the lemnniscate.

Auryn, or "aour yin", light as masculine principle and feminine energy... sol and luna.

One of my favorites as a child and still consider it great, just began watching it again the other day with my current roomate and friend. Why did the book-shop owner seem satisfied that the child took his book without out asking but was then thrown-back by his note of promise to return it??

Hi Salazius, I've been wondering lately why it is that in most of the classic alchemical images that Sol and Luna appear to be the bodies that are intended for 'marriage'? I see luna as a reflection or body that provides the mirrored image of Sol, so from this I see the idea of uniting with ones self or a reversed polarity of oneself. To me this is a marriage on a horizontal plane. What I wonder is why we don't see a union of Sol and Gaia as a goal of alchemy, this would be more akin to a vertical 'marriage' of the above with the below rather than the left to the right IMO. Is there something I'm missing with this philosophy? Or is it the earth that is being created or worked through the union of Sol and Luna?
