    The Brain

The Brain, what is it for, what does it do, how does it work...etc...?

We have many questions about the brain and many theories as to its function and purpose so I looked at some studies via web videos and picked some I found interesting and they are posted below.

Hope others find these interesting...and post others they find interesting too.

Treo creator Jeff Hawkins urges us to take a new look at the brain -- to see it not as a fast processor, but as a memory system that stores and plays back experiences to help us predict, intelligently, what will happen next.

Vilayanur Ramachandran tells us what brain damage can reveal about the connection between celebral tissue and the mind, using three startling delusions as examples.

Henry Markram says the mysteries of the mind can be solved -- soon. Mental illness, memory, perception: they're made of neurons and electric signals, and he plans to find them with a supercomputer that models all the brain's 100,000,000,000,000 synapses.

    - What is romantic love?
    - Why do we fall in love with one person rather than another?
    - What does the research show about the brain in love?
    - Can we learn how to find and keep lasting love?

Neuroscientist Daniel Wolpert starts from a surprising premise: the brain evolved, not to think or feel, but to control movement. In this entertaining, data-rich talk he gives us a glimpse into how the brain creates the grace and agility of human motion.

Did you know you have functioning neurons in your intestines -- about a hundred millions of them? Food scientist Heribert Watzke tells us about the "hidden brain" in our gut and the surprising things it makes us feel.

Just as a side-note...the gif in my signature below is an actual scan of my own brain.

Here's a scary look into the future...

Reminds me of my Ayahuasca journey.

Elon Musk talks about the need for this in the video below.
