Thread: Alchemical Symbolism in Florence?

    This picture is at the Palazzo Pitti. Unfortunately it's very dark and you are not allowed to stand in front of it. So my pictures are even worse than this.


    It's called: "Lo Studio dell'Alchimista" by Gerard Thomas (1665-1721)
    I did not know this picture and could not find a better version online.

    Thank you! The actual picture hanging there is a lot darker. Maybe it needs some restoration.
