    Amalgam

Has anyone ever run into alchemical texts which seem to be an amalgam of two or more original texts, each with slightly different style, woven together, with the author alternating from line to line between the texts?

One such text was published a couple hundred years ago

The student should not begin the preparation of this great and inscrutable arcanum before he knows well the spirit that lurks in it according to its essential qualities and properties. "With this spirit," says a certain philosopher, "you should not meddle until you first have a full and exact knowledge of it."

I havent seen anything like that in Dom Pernety's work - he cites mythology then explains it within the context of alchemy, but nothing like a line-by-line interlacing.
