Im not sure what you mean by central salt. Why would Calcium salts be closer in their nature to the Central Salt than
the Potassium or Sodium Salts ?
Most living organisms have a higher amount of calcium in them than other minerals. Its needed if they have a skeleton.
Every vertebrate stores calcium first before other minerals as its has primary role for function, muscles, organs. Etc.
The central salt may have the likeness atomically of that mineral they all share ?
It's what St. Didier refers to as "Gold" of the second degree. The first degree being the actual metal and the third degree being the "Astral Spirit" (or Astral Gold).
Or maybe it's the other way around, I can't recall...
The second is magnetic/attractive for the third and also "dissolves"/liquefies in it.
I've managed to obtain it a few times in small quantities. It's actually easy, but time consuming.
Interestingly, it seems to have an affinity for "Oil" stuff, but does not seem to be actually contained inside the Oil, but more like being either attracted by it or manifesting inside it, e.g. from the Air/Aer/Aether.
It doesn't dissolve in water (polar) or Di-Ethyl Ether (non-polar). Certain Spirits carrying the Acid Principle appear to mix with it in an interesting manner, though.
If it resembles anything, the closest thing is a Calx/Calcium-like Salt. It is completely tasteless and odorless when isolated. Not "piercing" and not "penetrating" at all.
It could be regarded as the "The Alkaline Principle" in our Alchemical Equation, with its Spirit "counterpart" serving as the "Acid Principle".
There appear to be quite a few different ways to manifest this salt. I'm almost certain in can be naturally or artificially precipitated out of good plain spring/bore water.
While Frater Albertus was far from being even remotely an "Alchemical Adept, the Gur and Water Archaeus experiments mentioned by Black are valid, but lacking the required concentration/potency, an issue that many aspiring Alchemists have to face and overcome.
Another possibly related method is detailed in "Hyle & Cohyle", with the copper "mirror" dish exposed to the Sun. Never tried this one, though.
I also strongly suspect an Ormus connection here. Like the insoluble and seemingly inert stuff that is left after OCD-level "washing" of the Precipitate.

Interesting thread. The only practical work that I have on-going is a water-based one and is the most promising.(The physical vessel is built through water) I think the potency Andro mentioned as something for aspiring alchemists to overcome could be a sort of infusion of the alchemists light or spirit into the matter. I know in ormus talk there are many suggestions of the importance of intention. "good vibes". I have been approaching lab work with a formula somewhat along the lines of:
a) Knowing what my intent in performing the search and functions of alchemy is.
b) What purpose do I aim to use alchemical success for.
c)Laying the process into the hands of God or the divine; allowing myself to be involved in the conception and remaining open to reception. Making reality a two way street and be accepting of the inputs from the other side.
d) Try not to steam-roll the process; like prayer, humbly put the intent out there and be grateful for whatever comes back to you even if it is not what you "thought" was best.
e)Have empathy with the work and see yourself in it. "There is no spoon" The work is a tool to your liberation.
Mr. Andro I would be very interested in hearing why you would say this ?
the Gur and Water Archaeus experiments mentioned by Black sound valid, but lacking the required concentration/potency, an issue that many aspiring Alchemists have to face and overcome.
Yes Mr. Andro is most correct on this point.
We could collect rain water/dew for a year then process it in the lab and still probably wouldn't have enough of the "Him" to prove anything Alchemic.
In the waters there is only the tiniest, minuscule part of the Him.
This is why Alchemists work in the Mineral/Metallic Realm where the Him has been
concentrating over million of years.
He just wasn't. A tree is known by its fruit, etc... But believe what you will.
Whatever I may reply probably won't make any difference, so it doesn't really matter.
But if you insist on a metric: Did he complete the Great Work? No, he did not.
So, not an "Alchemical Adept".
Well-practiced Spagyrist? No doubt. He even assumed the name of "Frater Albertus Spagyricus".
Aspiring Alchemist? Definitely.
Still, he played a significant role in the Alchemical Revival of the previous century, which is highly commendable.
The rest of my personal knowledge on this issue is of a more private nature, so it will have to remain private.
Back to HIM now![]()

Thanks andro for the info. The worst thing about practical alchemy is the long days and months where nothing happens.
Then when something does happen its never enough.
Kinda like sex.
Ive copied the letter again and will be going through it tonight.

There are even more Potent Sources, and they are not from the typical Mineral/Metallic Realm.
Even the Great Work with Gold is still considered a "Particular" of sorts, as opposed to the more "Universal" way, with another Matter(s).
The "Central Salt" can be obtained via certain "Waters".
And its "Spirit" counterpart should be sought in that which is Incommensurable, e.g. that which has plenty of "Mass" but no measurable "Magnitude" (yet), at least not in the Spacial "Cartesian Coordinates" sense.
My best suggestion, for the Highest Potency, is to seek HIM in that which is Incommensurable.
Other Paths (such as Metallic/Mineral, etc.) may still render good, measurable, tangible results, even small-scale transmutations, but FAR from the "miraculous" potency and properties described in the Writings of the Good Authors.
