Cannabutter

Hello AF,

So was making some cannabutter the other day and thought of Kiorionis and wanted to share how to make cannabutter and some pics for anyone curious on the process. Not as pretty as others but i try to keep things simple. I am a newbie so sorry if this sucks and doesn't work for you.

First start with 28g/1oz of decarbed cannabis flower/bud/shake/trim whatever you can find. You can decarb herb in the oven at 120 degrees (250F) for 30 mins.



Then add 400g/1lb butter and heat on low heat for a few hours.



Once done cooking the butter should look darker in color.



Then filter the herb from the butter.





Put the jar in the fridge to cool.



Once cooled the butter will look green.

You can also add lecithin to increase the bioavailability.

There is this great book called "Cannibus Alchemy" that goes into how to create the THC-O-acetate melecule which is said to have 4x more potency and 4x more yeild (due to the addition of the acetate molecule)

Worth looking up if you are into this kind of thing.

Thanks for the great book recommendation, into this kind of thing for sure but it may be too advanced for me, it sounds a little bit complicated? Molecules they are like really small things?

Haha yes. That’s when my state’s recreational marijuana law becomes active. So I’ll be celebrating!

How/when is the best time to add lecithin?

Last time I did 1 TBS powdered sunflower lecithin per cup of finished cannabutter. Just melt the butter and mix it in well. Keep the butter refrigerated and try to use it up within a few weeks. It can go rancid kind of fast. If you want to store it longer then fill smaller jars to the brim so there's no air then seal tight and keep in the freezer. Or make baked goods or candies and vacuum seal them before freezing.
