Recently, I’ve learned of a saying: Solve et Coagula. Which means break down and rebuild. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could break down metals in alchemy. Thank you

Magic Maybe Mighty, but Science is Superior
Hi Antinventor
There is only one (1) substance that can be used to "break down metals in alchemy" and that is Our SM (Spiritus Mundi), Our Mercury, etc.
This is the beginning of the processes of "Solve et Coagula".
There are other substances that will break down metals but you asked specifically about Alchemy.![]()

Thanks for the warning!
To resolve a problem is to find a solution or to fix the problem.
I know this does not help with your question but it is interesting.
I do believe that you can break down metals with certain types of spirits and or salts but I could not elaborate beyond this because I honestly do not know and have not done so myself.
The solve and coagula might lead you down some interesting avenues however!
What metals are you looking to break down and rebuild philosophically?
