    Niacin

A lot of people talking about the physical and mental benefits of Niacin recently. Heard it can be good for detox, blood flow, purging toxins, and even depression. Experimenting with low dosages (200-300mg) once per day thus far. Anyone else notice that the nature of Niacins reaction in the body seems somewhat Alchemical? It brings the blood that is deep within the body to the surface of the body, and it expands the passages in the body through which blood flows. Very interesting.

Anyone here try this stuff or know anything about it?

Niacin (Vitamin B3) and all of the B vitamins are great for better energy availability. You certainly feel better having good amounts of the Vitamins each day.

However, I recommend finding natural sources of this from foods. Since it is a rather common vitamin in foods it's fairly easy to find, and the reason I say this is because

    a) the obvious reason that natural is always better
    b) because often what we think of as one chemical compound vitamin is usually in fact a certain class of compounds. When you take these things from nature, you receive various forms of the vitamin which prevents building resistance to them and also offers more benefits. When we take these synthetic varieties, not only are you only getting one form of the vitamin, but you are also filling all of your receptors with this synthetic compound, and so when you go to eat food, your body is not able to receive the natural varieties from the food since you have saturated your receptors by taking excessive synthetic amounts.

B vitamins are common in meat and certain fruits and vegetables and I feel there is no need to be supplementing these if you have a varied diet. Perhaps if you live in a place that has poor food quality then it's a good idea to supplement.
If at first you don't succeed....

Thanks for the reply, most definitely prefer natural sources when I can but I dont think any foods would contain the dosages im taking or looking to take. Do you have any experiences with Niacin personally?

Tolerance to it is definitely rising. Just took 400mg. I have heard people do up to 3000mg at a time. Not sure if its just coincidence or my imagination or what but usually once it fully kicks in it makes me feel tired...What experiences have you all had?

Upon further review of increasing tolerance from daily use culminating in my taking of a maximum dose of 2000mg I have found that niacin definitely does have a great anti-depressant effect as many have claimed. I finished the entire bottle of 10g and now im looking to see how things go without it as taking it long term has been said to be dangerous to the body.
