Niacin (Vitamin B3) and all of the B vitamins are great for better energy availability. You certainly feel better having good amounts of the Vitamins each day.
However, I recommend finding natural sources of this from foods. Since it is a rather common vitamin in foods it's fairly easy to find, and the reason I say this is because
a) the obvious reason that natural is always better
b) because often what we think of as one chemical compound vitamin is usually in fact a certain class of compounds. When you take these things from nature, you receive various forms of the vitamin which prevents building resistance to them and also offers more benefits. When we take these synthetic varieties, not only are you only getting one form of the vitamin, but you are also filling all of your receptors with this synthetic compound, and so when you go to eat food, your body is not able to receive the natural varieties from the food since you have saturated your receptors by taking excessive synthetic amounts.
B vitamins are common in meat and certain fruits and vegetables and I feel there is no need to be supplementing these if you have a varied diet. Perhaps if you live in a place that has poor food quality then it's a good idea to supplement.
If at first you don't succeed....
